Rick Springfield took the music world
by storm in the early 80's with his catchy tunes and his handsome
looks. The multi-talented Springfield, was starring on the ABC
series "General Hospital" when his music career took
off. Rick won a Grammy award in 1981 for Best Male Performance
for his smash single "Jessie's Girl". Rick went on
to have many more top twenty singles during the 80's. Rick also
continued to act, and in 1984 he starred in his own film "Hard
To Hold"
Rick was not heard from much in the
1990's, but the veteran rocker continued touring and acting.
In 2001, Rick began a year long run at the MGM Grande in Las
Vegas in the EFX Alive show. Rick also released another greatest
hits compilation named Alive-The Greatest Hits.
Rick's career spans 30 years and he has a very strong fan base.
He has also sold more that 18 million records worldwide.

In honor of the rock stars birthday, his fans united and rented
a billboard and made a contribution to the Ronald Mc Donald

On Friday Aug 17th, 2001, at 3655 W. Tropicana, corner of Valley
View Blvd and Tropicana, by the Budget Suites of America - Las
Vegas, NV a birthday tribute to Rick Springfield was unveiled.
The 14 feet by 48 feet billboard has two concert action photos
and the message reads:

Rick Springfield has a loyal fan base that is extremely active
on the Internet. There are many fan sites and e-mail groups
devoted to him. Webmasters of several unofficial fan sites,
several e-mail list owners, and members of these groups united
together to show that many factions of Rick Springfield's fan
base can work together!
The "RS Fans United" group donated items from their own collections
as prizes for a raffle to raise money for the billboard. Not
only was the cost of the billboard achieved but a hefty $1000.00
donation for the Las Vegas Ronald McDonald House was made in
Springfield's name.
Additionally, a birthday website for Rick Springfield went live
with messages from fans and friends. The site also includes
a public guestbook for visitors to leave their well wishes for
the actor/musician.
The "RS Fans United" group would like to thank those who purchased

Rick Springfield got his big break when he landed the role of Dr. Noah Drake on the ABC soap opera "General Hospital". Soon after landing the role Rick's career catulpted.
Hard To Hold- Synopsis:When a popular
rock star and a children's counselor fall for each other, they

when it comes with jealous girlfriends and panting groupies.

Rick Springfield took
his career to another level when he took over the lead role
in the MGM Grand production of EFX Alive. Rick Springfield
has brought new life, energy and rock and roll to the 6 year
old production, which is considered by many to be the best
special effects live performance in Las Vegas.

Marnie Pont O' Doherty
1970-2001
When terrororist attacked
the United States on September 11th the nation was horrified,
saddened and shocked. Saddly, the Rick Springfield community
lost one of their own. Marnie Pont O' Doherty is among the missing
in the World Trade Center. Marnie worked for a firm in the World
Trade Center and is presumed dead.
Once again the Rick Springfield fan community has united, and
in an outpouring of love and thoughtfulness they have kept Marnie's
spirit and memory alive through memorials and by raising funds
for the September 11th fund in Marnie's name.
During a freak accident in front of over 1000 fans,
Rick broke his arm during a performance of EFX Alive.
